Reports to: President Location: The job is 100% remote, candidate must reside in one of the states in which Ampact operates: CA, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KY, MN, MS, NY, WI, VA. Job Overview The Vice President of Development and Marketing provides strategic leadership and execution oversight for all fundraising and marketing efforts of the organization. This role is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening brand presence, and advancing the mission through integrated development and marketing strategies aligned with organizational priorities.

Key Partnerships Executive Directors – responsible for revenue strategy in their state; role provides centralized tools, resources and support for them to cultivate and steward donors. SVP of Regional Leadership – supports overall revenue strategy in each state; key collaborator. Chief Policy and Growth Officer – oversees public policy, growth in new markets and external relations; key collaborator in strategy.

Director of Grant Admin – manages grant administration for all federal, state and other grants; supports compliance and contracting. Direct reports: Development Manager and Marketing & Communications Manager (manages a team of four). Enterprise Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive national fundraising strategy across foundation, corporate, and individual giving.

Set and achieve annual and multi-year fundraising goals aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. Oversee donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to deepen engagement and retention. Analyze fundraising performance data to guide strategy, investment decisions, and continuous improvement.

Provide centralized training, resources and support to Executive Directors accountable for fundraising in their states. Collaborate with leadership on revenue strategy to sustain and grow in existing and new states. Ensure compliance with all ethical, legal, and regulatory standards related to fundraising activities.

Marketing, Brand & Communications Leadership Provide strategic oversight of marketing, communications, and brand positioning to support fundraising, member recruitment, and mission impact. Ensure consistent, compelling messaging across digital, print, media, and stakeholder communications. Align marketing campaigns with development goals to drive awareness, engagement, and donor conversion.

Oversee digital strategy, including web presence, email marketing and social media platforms. Monitor brand performance and market trends to adapt messaging and outreach strategies. Leadership, Collaboration & Organizational Impact Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing development and marketing teams.

Partner closely with the President, executive leadership, executive directors, and board to advance fundraising priorities. Support President in board engagement for fundraising through training, tools and strategic involvement. Foster cross‑functional collaboration to ensure alignment between programs, finance and development.

Represent the organization externally with donors, partners and key stakeholders as directed. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications or a related field.

Minimum Experience Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit development or advancement. Demonstrated success building and leading large‑scale, multi‑channel fundraising programs with measurable results. Experience overseeing marketing, communications or brand strategy in a mission‑driven organization.

Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations and corporate partners. Strong strategic planning, financial acumen and data‑driven decision‑making skills. Experience leading and developing senior‑level teams in a complex organization.

Ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and boards in a national nonprofit environment. This Position Requires the Ability To Travel locally and nationally as needed to attend meetings.
