Position Description Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Vice President, Application Development will be responsible for providing technical and strategic leadership to the company’s application development, software architecture, data engineering and artificial intelligence teams. He/she will partner with key business stakeholders to identify new solutions and/or improvements to existing solutions to yield measurable business value and customer satisfaction.

He/she translates complex technical strategies into clear business value and drives organizational alignment across a matrixed engineering portfolio. Position Requirements The Vice President, Application Systems will have a minimum of 10 years progressive IT experience as well as 8+ years in a management capacity at the corporate or divisional level supervising diverse software engineering teams in a matrix environment. Proven experience supporting an extremely high volume transaction, supply chain driven business will be crucial to the final candidate’s success.

Strong knowledge of big data management, data visualization and building business intelligence capabilities is required of final candidates as well as an understanding of SaaS based solutions, machine learning and predictive analytics. The following experience skill sets will be critical to the successful candidate: A solid understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and API products. Knowledge and experience with object oriented programming languages such as .Net, Java, Ruby, Angular, Bootstrap, C++ and Python.

Experience and fluency launching and enhancing modern data platform concepts including data lakehouse architecture, data mesh principles, data product ownership and modern data stack. Demonstrated experience leading AI/ML product initiatives, including a working knowledge of large language modes, generative AI, model evaluation and responsible AI governance frameworks.
