Application Deadline: 30 June 2026 Department: Nursing Location: Cleveland House Compensation: £46,226 / year Unit Nurse Manager – full time, 38.5 hour role. Cleveland House is located in Banks, Southport, in the west of Lancashire. It offers residential support for 32 males and females with an acquired brain injury (ABI), progressive neurological condition (PNC) and associated physical health needs.

The facility provides a residential housing estate environment. Our team delivers personal care, rehabilitation and social activities to promote physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing while maintaining a safe and homely environment. Support residents with epilepsy Difficulties with communication Difficulties with swallowing May need respiratory support through a ventilator and/or tracheostomy What you’ll be doing You will be part of a compassionate team committed to residents’ wellbeing.

Working as Unit Manager, you will assist the Service Manager, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and other Unit Leads, and play a key part in delivering high quality, patient‑centred care. Assist with the clinical management of the unit, maintaining high standards of nursing practice and promoting a philosophy of patient and family centred care. Support the Service Manager in personal development reviews, risk assessments, incident management, departmental audits, and data collection for nursing indicators.

Ensure accurate communication with nurses and healthcare assistants and conduct daily safety huddles. Manage challenging and difficult situations with a professional, emotionally appropriate response, keeping patient needs paramount. What you’ll bring to the role Resilience, empathy and the ability to support others through highs and lows are key.

Essential criteria Current NMC RGN registration Experience of clinical supervision and leadership Evidence of ongoing development and education Change management skills Desirable criteria Tracheostomy and long‑term ventilation experience Experience Working with multidisciplinary teams and other professionals. Range of clinical experience with people with brain injury and neurological conditions. Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and problem‑solving skills. Assessment of new patients referred to the service. Evidence of leadership, supervisory and management skills.
