Underwriting Performance Analyst Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis Location: Glasgow, covering Scotland & Northern Ireland region Overview As an Underwriting Performance Analyst, you’ll use your analytical skills to help drive improvements and support our regional portfolio. You’ll provide key, data‑led insights to our underwriting, sales, and management teams by analysing multiple data sources and applying different analytical techniques (training can be provided if needed). We’re looking for someone with a positive, enthusiastic approach and an inquisitive nature.

Key Responsibilities Review Quote, New Business, retention, and tiering performance. Analyse profitability, exposure/hazard grade, and business mix. Ensure our underwriting acceptance criteria support growth while protecting profitability.
Stay updated on market developments, distribution channels, and our competitive position. Gain expertise in analytical techniques and commercial insurance, providing regular portfolio insights. Help foster a positive, diverse, and supportive team culture.
Review broker performance across all metrics. Deliver insights into Line of Business sensitivities and hotspots. Use data to uncover underlying trends.
Check data quality and ensure processes deliver the right insights. Work with the RUL and Portfolio team to discuss actions and strategy changes. Monitor improvement actions.
Support RUL and underwriters with ad hoc information requests. Skills and Experience Experience in property/casualty or other commercial lines underwriting is preferred. Strong commercial acumen, able to present to internal and external stakeholders.
Strong numerical and data manipulation skills. Passion for learning and personal growth, with strong communication skills. Able to work independently and within a team, building networks and stakeholder relationships.
Comfortable challenging processes and decisions, with strong attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable to different workloads and pressures, able to think on your feet. Benefits 12% defined non‑contributory pension scheme.
