Snowy Mountain Transport currently have a vacancy for experienced Intrastate/ interstate truck drivers. This is a job that's interesting, exciting, and rewarding with a variety of different work each day.

You'll be providing excellent transport services to our customers and maintaining our company's high standards. We are a family owned and operated Transport company who pride ourselves on our great staff and ability to get the job done with a high standard in safety and compliance.

What you'll be doing in this job

• Heavy Vehicle operations transporting various freight both intrastate & interstate
• Inspecting and maintaining vehicle and equipment, complying to all NHVR regulations.
• Maintaining records such as work diary (EWD), cargo consignment notes, and obtain proof of delivery for every delivery.
• Using and maintaining tools and equipment found on commercial vehicles such as weighing and measuring devices and restraint equipment.
• Checking the load corresponds with the paperwork and recording load information to comply with company requirements.
• Making sure the load is correctly loaded and secured using the appropriate equipment and load restraint required to meet NHVR regulations.
• Calculating and estimating the weight of loads to comply with nationally regulated load limits.
• Coupling and uncoupling trailers.

About you

Here are the skills and qualifications you'll need to be considered for this role.

• Current Heavy Vehicle Driving License with appropriate class HC or MC.
• Knowledge of load restrain procedures and compliance for various products
• Attained unit of competency TLIF0005 - Apply a fatigue risk management system (BFM Drivers only)
• Demonstrated driving record (a recent Driving History/ Demerit Point Record)
• Driving experience (an internal driving assessment will take place)
• Minimum of five years professional driving experience required
• Ability to safely conduct manual handling activities
• Ability to comply with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Knowledge of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (ADG) (Recommended)
• A Dangerous Goods Licence and Forklift Licence would be highly regarded
