About the role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join Reclaim and Timber Co on a part-time basis. Based in Dandenong South, VIC 3175, this role is integral to our distribution operations, ensuring that goods are transported safely and efficiently to our clients. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of materials, maintaining vehicle standards and supporting the smooth operation of our logistics network.

This position offers flexibility suited to part-time work arrangements with the potential of full-time future employment.

Key responsibilities

• Operating trucks safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety protocols
• Transporting goods and materials to designated locations in a timely manner
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition
• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption
• Loading and unloading cargo, or coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure proper handling of materials
• Communicating with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays or issues
• Adhering to weight limits, route regulations and hours of service requirements
• Maintaining a professional appearance and representing Reclaim and Timber Co positively to clients
• Reporting any vehicle defects or safety concerns immediately to management

What we’re looking for

• A current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) Driver's Licence appropriate to the vehicles operated
• A current and satisfactory National Police Check
• Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in warehousing, storage or distribution environments
• Strong knowledge of road safety rules, regulations and safe driving practices
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to meet delivery schedules
• The ability to work independently and take responsibility for vehicle and cargo safety
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
• Physical fitness and the ability to assist with loading and unloading where required
• A commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and reporting hazards
• Experience with logistics software or GPS navigation systems is desirable
• Fork lift license is desired but not mandatory
