Truck Driver

Burleigh Garden Supplies is seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transport operations team on a casual basis. Based in Burleigh Heads, QLD, this role is essential to our logistics operations, ensuring that garden supplies and products are delivered safely and efficiently to our customers across the region. As a Truck Driver, you will be the face of our company on the road, representing Burleigh Garden Supplies with professionalism and dedication whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Operating and safely driving various trucks to transport garden supplies and products to customer locations
• Planning and managing delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled delivery times
• Conducting pre and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements
• Loading and unloading cargo, ensuring goods are secured appropriately for transport
• Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage and fuel consumption
• Adhering to all road traffic regulations and company safety policies
• Providing professional and courteous service to customers during deliveries
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status and any issues encountered
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle

What we're looking for

• Current, valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence, as appropriate for the role
• Proven experience as a truck driver in the transport or logistics industry
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and commitment to safe driving practices
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a professional demeanour when interacting with customers
• Physical capability to load, unload and secure cargo
• A clean driving record and responsibility for vehicle maintenance awareness
• Flexibility to work casual hours as required by business needs
