Benefits Access to our company pension scheme Discounts on groceries, well‑known retailers and more Resources to support your physical, mental and financial health 24‑hour access to a virtual GP, 365 days a year, for you and your household One paid day of leave annually to volunteer and support your community Ongoing training and development opportunities Responsibilities Take full control and responsibility for the transport function Ensure compliance with licence requirements, transport legislation, and internal procedures Manage fleet maintenance matters to ensure best value and legal compliance Collaborate with contract financial staff to produce monthly profit and loss accounts, accurate forecasting, and CAPEX involvement Liaise and work with local regulatory bodies (EA, HSE, Transport Ministry) to ensure associated compliance obligations Line‑manage staff, including recruitment, appraisals, disciplinary matters and attendance at meetings as required Challenge existing practices periodically by adopting review processes to embed a culture of continuous improvement for efficient and effective service delivery Qualifications Experienced Transport Manager with a good understanding of operating relevant waste management services CPC licence – essential requirement IOSH Managing Safely – essential requirement Understanding of relevant transport, health & safety, and environmental legislation Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire others, with the ability to act on own initiative Teaching or training qualification desirable Equal Opportunity & Inclusion We are committed to ensuring that all applicants and colleagues receive fair treatment without discrimination on any grounds, aiming to create a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
