Job Description
The Colombia Timekeeper supports accurate and timely salary payroll processing by ensuring employee time and attendance data is complete, compliant, and aligned with operational requirements. Working within a high-volume call center environment, this role collaborates closely with Operations, HR, and Payroll to review and reconcile time data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain auditable records. The position requires strong attention to detail, fluency in Spanish and English, working knowledge of Colombian labor regulations, and advanced Excel skills to drive data accuracy and on-time payroll delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, validate, and maintain employee timecards to ensure accuracy prior to payroll processing deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with Colombian labor laws, including overtime, differentials, holidays, and leave regulations.
- Perform historical edits and adjustments in timekeeping systems with required documentation and approvals.
- Update time records for new hires, transfers, and separations in alignment with payroll requirements.
- Monitor attendance, adherence, and schedule compliance in a high-volume call center environment.
- Maintain accurate, auditable timekeeping records in accordance with company standards and internal controls.
- Reconcile time and attendance data to identify discrepancies and support accurate payroll processing.
- Use Microsoft Excel to organize, reconcile, and validate timekeeping data; support issue resolution.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports related to timekeeping and payroll activities.
- Provide responsive support to employees and leaders on timekeeping, attendance, and system inquiries.
- Execute real-time corrections as needed to support operational continuity and payroll deadlines.
- Manage and resolve timekeeping requests through ticketing systems, escalating as appropriate.
- Support internal audits and validation checks to maintain data integrity and policy adherence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and user experience.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in payroll, timekeeping, or HR operations in high-volume environments (BPO/call center preferred).
- Experience supporting payroll processes and time & attendance systems.
- Knowledge of Colombian labor laws related to timekeeping and payroll.
- Experience with platforms such as UKG (WFM), Workday, SAP, or similar systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering, PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
- Proven experience reviewing and reconciling data to identify discrepancies and support payroll accuracy.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (required).
