Job Description
Present results of reliability growth activities to engineering in order to improve development of the engine and vehicle Troubleshoot engine & engine related issues Experimental hardware and software for evaluation Support replacement parts inventory / part logistics Monitor and maintain fuel/oil supply Coordinate modification of instrumentation and modification of engine/vehicles. Failure analysis & corrective action reporting (FiNAS+FACAR+ZEUSS) Analyze moderately complex problems and job assignments in preparing project plans. Product verification and validation.
Creates and updates project plans Schedule time according to established job priorities. Conduct vehicle experiments to determine hardware, software, and calibration parameter specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project Use analytical tools and models to assist in determining hardware, software, and calibration specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project Provides test instructions to technicians and advises shop personnel of instrumentation needs Participate in the team's failure analyses reviews Complete project work and draw conclusions and make recommendations. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide management with regular reports on project work plans and status for information and resource management purposes.
Maintain a neat workplace and organized information files pertaining to project work assignments. Perform special projects Basic Qualifications : Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field Development testing and analysis experience High level of analytical and logical problem solving ability Confidence to make non-critical decisions Proficient PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet software Ability to use shop tools and mechanical/electronic instruments Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work in conjunction with team members both in immediate and other project teams, also able to work effectively with others having diverse backgrounds and experiences Willingness to train others and share knowledge on Reliability Development topics or other areas of expertise, ability to manage satellite activities including technician shop interface Domestic and foreign travel Preferred Education and Experience: Masters of Science degree in engineering or related field One year project management or supervisory experience Previous experience in a large truck manufacturing company Emissions testing and analysis experience Knowledge of engine control systems Knowledge of performance engineering tools like MARC, Drumroll, and Cal Tools #J-18808-Ljbffr
