Pay: 21.53 Per Hour PAYE/ 29.01 Per Hour Umbrella
Location: Hybrid (3 days per week at E8 1DY)
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Start: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary (Until the end of November)
Vetting: Standard DBS Check

Hackney Council's Housing Services team is dedicated to helping residents live well and thrive. As a Tenancy Services Administration Officer, you will be at the heart of our operations, delivering an excellent 'back office' administration function to support internal teams and stakeholders across Tenancy Services. You will also play an integral role in supporting our ongoing digital transformation, improving processes, and ensuring smooth service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support & Minute Taking: Provide high-quality administrative support, including accurate minute taking for the Tenancy Services Senior Leadership team and Locality Partnerships.
- Systems & Data Management: Utilise Google Workspace and internal IT systems to manage mailboxes, maintain operational databases, update digital records, and ensure clear data tracking.
- Financial & Procurement Admin: Process invoices, payment requests, purchase orders, and assist with corporate credit cards and simple procurement exercises in line with procedures.
- Information & Compliance: Collate files and data for Subject Access Requests (SARs), Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and legal/audit purposes.
- Customer Service & Communication: Manage incoming post and correspondence promptly, sensitively, and professionally, maintaining strong communication across teams.
- Data Protection: Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with GDPR/Data Protection policies at all times.
What We Are Looking For
To excel in this role, you should have:
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience in minute taking and administrative support.
- High proficiency with Google Workspace (including Gmail) and standard IT systems, with the ability to adapt to new software quickly.
- High accuracy and outstanding attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound understanding of Data Protection (GDPR) and confidentiality requirements.
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and personal accountability to manage your workload effectively.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working within local government, housing, or a public sector environment.
- Experience with basic financial processes, invoice handling, or procurement admin.
