BASED IN GOLD RIVER, BC

Effective September 1, 2026 to October 13, 2026 or the return of the incumbent

Teaching assignment may include, but may not be limited to:

  • Elementary and Secondary School Counselling

Teaching assignment may include, but may not be limited to:

  • Elementary and Secondary School Counselling

The successful candidate will :

  • have an exemplary work ethic, effective communication skills and a proven ability to work as an effective team member to ensure success in this setting;
  • be a committed to being an advocate for students;
  • possess outstanding skills in building student rapport;
  • have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Graduation Program requirements;
  • strong skills as a problem solver;
  • strong skills in conflict resolution;
  • establish open and effective dialogue with community agencies and resource people;
  • knowledge, skills and experience in the use of student information systems (MyEdBC)
  • deal meaningfully with differentiated student learning styles and behaviour issues and demonstrate an ability to address individual student needs;
  • provide a hands-on, active classroom experience for student learning;
  • possess an understanding of and an ability to assist in the development and implementation of IEP's and Behavioural Plans for students;
  • be a willing and contributing member of the School Based Team
  • commit to supporting the District's goal to improve student well-being and utilize strategies to support student well-being, positive social and emotional development, and positive behaviour;
  • commit to the District's goals to improve the success of First Nations students;
  • communicate with parents and guardians;
  • be willing and flexible to teach other subjects
  • be willing and able to travel throughout the District, when required;
  • be physically capable to perform the duties of this position.

Essential Qualifications :

  • BC Certified and qualified with a Master's in Counselling;
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver's license.
