Job Summary Technology Manager (Permanent) – Locations: Victoria, BC; Ottawa, ON; Halifax, NS. Salary: $88,000 to $110,000 (base salary to be determined by Babcock based on experience and internal equity). Responsibilities Serve as a key member of the Canadian Engineering and Technology Management team and Babcock’s Global Technology Team.

Contribute to the Global Technology Strategy by researching technology trends, identifying research topics, and representing Canadian business operations in strategy development. Develop and nurture relationships with Small‑to‑Medium Businesses (SMBs) and community partners to support global interactions aligned with the strategy. Create business cases, often based on Industrial Technological Benefits (ITB) policy objectives, in collaboration with cross‑functional teams across Canada, the UK, Australia, France, and South Africa.

Lead technical analysis, vendor selection, implementation, and prototype creation. Manage product development methodology and oversee the implementation of concepts through design and development phases. Directly manage the delivery of technology projects and programs, ensuring adherence to governance, financial delegations, and scheduling requirements.

Apply both waterfall and agile project management approaches as appropriate. Act as a strategic partner; regularly engage with functional leaders and stakeholders to discuss potential improvements and innovations. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Engineering. 10 years of progressive management experience, including communication with executive‑level stakeholders. Demonstrated project management experience (5+ years) in R&D or engineering‑focused applications. Experience leading cross‑functional teams across multiple locations and time zones.

Knowledge of technology landscapes in Babcock’s primary markets, especially the Canadian ITB Program, Defence Industrial Strategy, and the Canadian SMB ecosystem. Familiarity with all four sectors (Marine, Aviation, Land, Nuclear) preferred; expertise in a subset acceptable. PMP certification is an asset.
