Are you an experienced electrician or electrical technologist looking to move from hands-on field work into a customer-focused role? We're seeking a Technical Sales Support - Electrical professional to join our team in Edmonton. In this role, you'll combine your electrical knowledge with strong customer service skills to help customers identify the right rental solutions for their projects.
You'll act as a trusted technical resource, supporting customers from initial inquiry through to equipment delivery while working closely with sales, operations, and service teams. Job Description
What You'll Do
- Customer Service & Rental Operations
- Serve customers at the rental counter, by phone, and through email inquiries
- Provide information on rental, used, and new equipment offerings
- Prepare quotations and manage sales transactions from initial inquiry through invoicing
- Support customers throughout the rental process and coordinate with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions
- Refer customers requiring on-site consultations to the Outside Sales team
- Technical Electrical Support
- Provide technical guidance on temporary power and electrical applications
- Assist customers in selecting the appropriate equipment for their specific projects
- Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Create and review single-line diagrams as required
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and shop personnel
- Support equipment preparation and ensure technical requirements are clearly communicated
- Business Development
- Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers
- Generate rental opportunities through proactive customer engagement
- Promote branch capabilities, products, and services
- Support sales growth through strong relationship management and follow-up activities
- Inventory & Operations Support
- Coordinate equipment availability across branch and network locations
- Support fleet movement to meet customer requirements
- Assist with inventory accuracy and equipment tracking processes
- Work closely with branch teams to ensure customer deadlines are met
What You'll Bring
- Required Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician Certification or Electrical Technologist Diploma
- Minimum 3-5 years of customer-facing experience
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and temporary power applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the equipment rental industry
- Experience supporting construction, industrial, or commercial projects
- Previous sales, rental, or business development experience
