Base pay range $55.00/hr - $74.00/hr Job details Type: Contract – 2-month Duration Pay Range: $55.00 – 74.00, DOE Responsibilities of the Technical Accounting Analyst Perform ASC 606 revenue recognition analyses and draft supporting memos across multiple subsidiaries.
Conduct goodwill impairment assessments and prepare related documentation. Prepare and update purchase price accounting (PPA) workbooks and document measurement-period adjustments. Review business contracts for accounting implications and identify necessary journal entries or disclosures.
Research and document complex technical accounting issues, providing recommendations to leadership. Partner with Financial Reporting Analysts to ensure external disclosures comply with U.S. GAAP.
Monitor emerging FASB and SEC guidance and support the annual external audit as a technical resource. Contribute to SOX-related internal control procedures, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability. Qualifications of the Technical Accounting Analyst Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an active CPA license.
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting preferred). Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidation principles, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
Experience with business combinations, purchase accounting, and measurement-period adjustments. Proven ability to conduct technical research, draft clear memos, and communicate complex concepts effectively. Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail and strategic thinking.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams while maintaining the highest ethical standards. Familiarity with utility accounting, SEC reporting requirements, and ERP systems (SAP or similar) preferred. About Motus Recruiting and Staffing, Inc.
