Tech Lead - Mobile Developer IV

The Tech Lead – Mobile Developer IV is responsible for leading the end-to-end technical execution of a mobile and backend ecosystem for a customer-facing companion application.

This role involves mobile architecture leadership, hands‑on development, guiding technical decisions, and ensuring high-quality performance across iOS and cloud‑integrated components.

The position requires expertise in Angular, Ionic/Capacitor, iOS optimizations, CI/CD pipelines, and mobile performance engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Lead the architecture and development of an Angular application wrapped with Ionic/Capacitor.
• Design modular, scalable, and maintainable mobile systems with strong state‑management practices.
• Own overall system architecture across mobile, backend services, messaging systems, and data stores.
• Define authentication and authorization flows, including token‑based access and SSO integrations.
• Design event‑driven architectures for kiosk interactions, backend systems, and mobile clients.
• Lead integrations involving AWS cloud services and iOS‑specific capabilities.

Hands‑On Development & Delivery

• Act as a player/coach, writing production‑level code while mentoring developers.
• Set and enforce development standards, coding practices, and code quality expectations.
• Perform peer code reviews and guide developers on architectural alignment.
• Own CI/CD processes including iOS build pipelines, signing, and harness workflows.

Performance, Quality & Reliability

• Ensure mobile performance, reliability, and security best practices are implemented.
• Optimize iOS runtime performance, offline capability, and user experience.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support operational excellence for mobile systems.
• Drive high‑quality delivery ensuring the application is stable, scalable, and production‑ready.

Required Qualifications

• Strong expertise in mobile architecture using Angular with Ionic/Capacitor or Cordova.
• Hands‑on experience in designing and delivering iOS‑specific integrations and optimizations.
• Experience building event‑driven systems with messaging, real‑time updates, and push notifications.
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms including SSO and token‑based flows.
• Proven ability to lead technical decisions, mentor engineering teams, and establish coding standards.
• Experience with AWS cloud integrations and backend service coordination.
• Strong background in CI/CD ownership including iOS build pipelines, signing, and delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure performance, security, and UX quality for mobile apps.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real‑time mobile communication frameworks.
• Exposure to distributed systems or microservices environments.
• Understanding of mobile DevOps practices including observability and automated testing.
