Within our ECS (Embedded Computing Systems) domain, we are expanding our mechanical engineering team to support both current and future R&D challenges. As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you play a key role in strengthen the team with your leading skills and experience.
About the role
As a Lead mechanical engineer you will join an experienced team, with your leading experience you will contribute to the structural growth of the team and the development of the team.
Responsibilities
Your work also spans both new product development and the lifecycle management phase, where you ensure existing products remain robust, reliable, manufacturable, and compliant with evolving requirements. Your responsibilities are:
- Lead the team of ±10 mechanical engineers regarding performance, recruitment, capacity overview and other related leadership responsibilities.
- Design and develop mechanical solutions from concept phase to production.
- Contribute to collaborative product designs within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Create designs that balance performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Actively align with manufacturing, sourcing, and other stakeholders that interface with R&D.
- Perform and support root-cause analysis, testing, and design optimization.
- Take ownership in design discussions and provide well-founded technical pushback when needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of existing products (LCM) and new developments (NPI).

What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (e.g. mechatronics).
- 5+ years Experience in mechanical engineering for high‑tech or industrial products.
- Experience in working as a lead engineer.
- Experience in doing HR related tasks like performance appraisals, interviews, etc. is a big plus.
- Experience with Siemens NX (or comparable CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA).
- Broad mechanical knowledge (e.g. sheet metal, injection molding, additive manufacturing, cabling).
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Affinity with manufacturing-oriented environments.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder awareness.
- Analytical mindset with experience in testing and problem-solving.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
