Job purpose:
\nIndirect Tax Specialist acts as a tax process expert, a self-reliant process
\nperformer, focused and specialized in delivery of Tax
\ncompliance (mainly VAT): means delivery of VAT returns, Excise Duty returns and other local Indirect Tax Reports.
\nKey responsibilities:
\n1) Completes all Tax related accounting activities and tax compliance activities upon which tax reporting depends, including control checks of transactional data to identify any errors or anomalies.
\nResolving errors/anomalies by engaging with OpCos/other business streams
\n• Preparation and timely, accurate delivery of VAT returns,
\n• Preparation of local statutory accounts - analysis and reconciliation of GL indirect tax accounts in line with local legislation
\n• Completes Period End Close activities related to VAT accounting - VAT
\nclearings entries,
\n• Preparation of payment requests,
\n• Preparation of ad hoc Tax reports
\n2) Supports Tax reviews, statutory and Tax audits and ad hoc requests,
\n3) Contributes to continuous improvement by proposing ideas, participation in
\nprojects and applying any agreed changes to the processes,
\n4) Works with PtP, RtR, OtC and Opco Tax Teams to ensure that errors are properly corrected and that remedial action has been taken to minimize the likelihood of similar errors in future.
\n5) Handles the Tax queries from OpCo. Filter function - be first point of contact
\nfor transactional Tax questions (questions which would not have influence on
\nbusiness decisions)
\n6) Initiates and supports Tax changes required into system ERP System and other Platforms
\n7) Revises tax compliance process: implementation of '4 eyes' policy, internal reviewer role
\nFunctional Reporting line:

\nQualifications/ Experience / skills required per job levels:
\nMust have:
\n1. Bachelors or master's in finance, Accounting or Tax Law
\n2. 4+ year work experience in Tax advisory and/or VAT return preparation
\n3. Experience of using ERP accounting system and Excel, good working knowledge of Outlook
\n4. Excellent written and verbal English (C1)
\n5. End-to-end MtC/StP process understanding (i.e. understanding why VAT is important in these processes, and at which points it's relevant)
\n6. understanding of data points relevant for VAT determination
\n7. Team player must have experience in a multi-national work environment,
\n8. Proactive & stakeholder orientated
\n9. Very strong analytical skills. Must be numerically accurate with a "good eye for
\ndetail", thorough, organized and consistent
\nNice to have:
\n1. Background in RtR, PtP / OtC processes
\n2. Experience in implementation of change during improvement of process
\n3. Proven project management skills
\n4. Professional TAX certification
