Responsibilities

  • What You'll Do: V2X is seeking a highly motivated Tax Manager to oversee Tax Department Staff, day-to-day operations, and to continue to grow through regular interaction with the Tax director and Head of Tax. The successful candidate must demonstrate critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Key Responsibilities: Review all quarterly and annual GAAP and foreign income tax provisions prepared by staff.
  • Assist reviewing monthly and quarterly Sales & Use Tax filings, VAT and support audit or compliance initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with oversight of fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and cash tax schedule.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of M‑1 workpapers, optimize deductibility rules, and recommend process improvements to reduce audit risk.
  • Complete month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and tax account reconciliations to ensure accurate tax reporting in financial statements.
  • Work closely with finance, accounting, and legal teams.
  • Coordinate with staff and external service providers on the review of all federal and state income/franchise tax returns and tax calculations and ensuring timely remittance of all required tax filings and payments.
  • Maintain and review the tax calendar to ensure compliance with the Company’s tax compliance and reporting filing and payment obligations.
  • Conduct research on new tax laws, regulations, or technical tax concepts, and collaborate with other tax department members to prepare technical memorandums and present potential impacts and strategic opportunities for the Company.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior and senior staff and assist in their professional development.
  • Teach internal trainings on a periodic basis related to federal income taxes.
  • Assist with governmental tax returns audit.
  • Assist and provide support for statutory financial statements audits.
  • Assist the Tax Director and Head of Tax with special projects, as applicable.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or a public company corporate tax department function with a minimum of two (2) year experience in a supervisory or management position.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of government contracting industry experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of income tax provision preparation and/or review experience required.
  • Experience in professional services environments utilizing cash/tax basis accounting preferred.
  • Knowledge of accrual accounting for international compliance purposes.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. International tax (5471, FDII, GILTI, FTC) and hypothetical tax calculations.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to junior staff.
  • United States citizenship required.
  • May work extended hours during quarterly, annual close and tax filing deadline.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This job directly supervises employees in the Tax Department.

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsible for training employees, planning, assigning, and reviewing work amongst the staff; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

  • Travel Requirement: Hybrid opportunity.
  • Software: Familiar with OTP or other tax provision software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Technology: Company‑issued computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • USD $120,000 - $180,000 (base salary).
