A growing top 200 public accounting firm seeks a Senior Tax Manager to help lead and grow the tax practice in Nashville. This position provides a direct path to Partner. Overview of the firm With offices in major cities in the south / central United States, this PCAOB-registered public accounting firm provides a full range of tax, audit and advisory services.

Preferred Experience / Qualifications CPA At least seven years of tax experience in public accounting Significant experience with federal taxation for partnerships and other entities Has risen to the level of Senior Tax Manager, or to the level just below Has the ability to leverage existing contacts and to develop new ones in order to grow the tax practice A demonstrated history of client satisfaction and strong relationship building skills Able to attract, train, develop and retain tax professionals Fosters a collegial culture / atmosphere Details The primary focus is on federal taxation – mainly partnerships and high net worth individuals. There is an existing book of business to walk into.
That said, the Firm is young and energetic and is committed to continuously growing the tax practice. Essential duties include: Lead and manage multiple federal income tax engagements including compliance and consulting services, bringing in other experts as needed (SALT, international, etc.) Identify and deliver high-value tax planning strategies for clients Manage and expand client relationships by providing timely and competent communication and value-added services Participate in recruiting both entry level staff and experienced professionals Develop and energize the tax staff and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance Recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the tax staff Be a resource for the other partners in tax, audit and advisory Actively participate in business development activities – seeking to address new issues for existing clients and also pursuing new clients Represent the Firm at selected industry and community events Provide thought leadership This could be an ideal role for a qualified individual who: Has worked in public accounting, moved to industry, and now seeks a return to public accounting Has worked in Nashville, moved to another city, and now seeks to return to Nashville Is blocked from advancing due to a cluster of more senior people at the next level Seeks a more friendly, collegial atmosphere Search firm information Olsen Day Executive Search has been engaged to fill this position.
