Responsibilities Review business and individual tax returns (1065, 1120, 1120S, 1040, 1041, 5471/5472, etc.) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Prepare more advanced or specialized returns as needed.
Identify tax‑saving opportunities and ensure proper tax positions. Research complex issues; document positions and ensure federal/state/local compliance. Maintain organized workpapers; communicate directly with clients on status and deliverables.
Stay updated on new tax law changes and ensure timely implementation within the firm’s processes. Communicate proactively regarding deadlines, deliverables, tax positions, and planning opportunities. Explain complex tax matters in a client‑friendly way.
Build and maintain strong client relationships and ensure high‑quality client service. Mentor and support staff, seniors, and interns in developing their technical and soft skills. Assist in developing and improving the firm’s internal processes, templates, and workflows.
Help implement technology solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements Active Florida CPA license required. Master’s in Taxation (MST) strongly preferred; Master’s in Accounting accepted with strong tax background. 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience with demonstrated experience reviewing returns and managing engagements.
Proficiency with modern tax preparation software and Excel; strong written/verbal communication. Schedule 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (1‑hour lunch) is standard, but we are flexible. Onsite only (no remote).
