Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Tax Manager or Senior Tax Advisor to join a collaborative, growth-oriented wealth management and advisory firm. This individual will serve as the primary tax expert for clients, providing strategic guidance, overseeing compliance, and supporting the firm’s integrated planning approach. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients as the lead technical tax resource on their planning team.

Attend client meetings to deliver and explain comprehensive tax strategies and plans. Partner with the financial advisory team to integrate tax planning into broader wealth management objectives. Support new business efforts by participating in client onboarding and relationship development.

Lead the tax client service team, overseeing both compliance and planning deliverables. Conduct final reviews and sign-off on federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. Manage tax projections, respond to IRS and state notices, and oversee audit matters as needed.

Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to develop junior team members and promote professional growth. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA, JD, or EA designation required. Master’s in Taxation or JD preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience in tax compliance and planning across individual, partnership, fiduciary, estate, and gift returns. Strong understanding of the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and relevant tax pronouncements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat).

Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess Tax , BNA Tax Planner , and research tools like RIA Checkpoint or BNA Portfolios . Familiarity with systems such as ADP , QuickBooks , and Salesforce preferred. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
