Tax Associate Lawyer

As a Tax Associate Lawyer, you will provide legal advice on a variety of tax transactions and business matters. This includes advising private and corporate clients on tax issues, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and representing clients in disputes and litigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive tax advisory services to clients, including corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
• Advise clients of local tax implications of various business transactions and financial decisions.
• Draft, review, and finalize legal documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, contracts, and agreements.
• Represent clients in tax audits, administrative proceedings, and litigation.
• Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, including assisting clients in maintaining tax compliance with filing deadlines and required documentation.
• Draw from multidisciplinary capabilities to help reduce risk and optimize value for the client throughout the deal life cycle.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in Portugal with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in international taxation, real estate projects, restructuring and corporate M&A.
• English and Portuguese proficiency.
