Tax Accountant - Belfast - Hybrid Working

Description

We are hiring for our client, who is seeking a Tax Accountant for an in-house role based in Belfast, offering hybrid working.

Reporting to the Director of Group Finance, the successful Tax Accountant will take responsibility for group tax reporting and compliance while contributing to wider financial reporting and commercial decision-making.

This Tax Accountant opportunity offers scope to apply your technical expertise across a varied tax remit, work closely with colleagues across the business and develop your experience within an industry finance team.

  • The Role:

    • Lead group tax activities across corporation tax, VAT, PAYE and customs, including internal reporting and external compliance requirements.

    • Support intercompany accounting, M&A activity and cross-border transactions, including transfer pricing documentation.

    • Contribute to statutory accounts and other financial reporting and compliance submissions.

    • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis as part of internal reporting cycles.

    • Work with finance colleagues to maintain effective tax and financial reporting controls.

    • Provide financial insight and support to commercial and operational colleagues.

    • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.

    • Improve financial systems, processes and controls.

    The Person:

    • Qualified accountant through a recognised professional body, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent.

    • At least three years' experience in a similar role.

    • Strong knowledge of taxation and statutory reporting, including corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, customs and relevant reliefs and allowances.

    • Experience of cross-border trading and its associated tax implications.

    • Experience preparing compliance submissions and reporting to HMRC and other relevant authorities.

    • Able to communicate technical information clearly and work collaboratively across the business.
