For more information, please visit us at https://oceusnetworks.io Security Clearance Requirement Current DoD clearance Location Note: On-site Travel: 50-75% CONUS and OCONUS Position Description Oceus is seeking a Systems Engineer, Associate Principal with senior-level Systems Architect expertise to lead the design, integration, and deployment of complex, mission‑critical solutions. This role owns technical execution across the full lifecycle—from architecture and system design through integration, field deployment, and sustainment.
The Associate Principal Systems Engineer serves as the technical authority on assigned programs, directly advising customers, leading engineering efforts, and resolving complex system‑level challenges. This is a hands‑on architecture role requiring deep networking expertise, strong customer presence, and the ability to drive technical decisions in high‑visibility environments. Qualified candidates will have a current CI polygraph at a minimum and the ability to pass a Full Scope Polygraph.
Duties and Responsibilities Architect and deliver end-to-end networked and compute solutions Lead system integration, validation, and field deployment activities Serve as primary technical interface to customers and stakeholders Lead small engineering teams and drive technical standards Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure mission success Qualifications and Requirements Current DoD security clearance Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or additional years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree 10-15+ years of progressive systems engineering experience, including architecture-level responsibilities Demonstrated ownership of complex hardware and software systems integrations Demonstrated technical expertise in these areas: Advanced IP networking (CCNA-level or higher): switching, routing, OSPF, BGP, VMware ESXi and Kubernetes in production environments Linux system administration (CLI, networking, multi-NIC configuration) IPv6, VPN, VRF, and PKI implementation Space, Weight, and Power (SWaP) analysis for integrated systems Proven customer‑facing leadership in technical program execution Advanced system troubleshooting and root cause analysis expertise Responsive to industry trends and opportunities that advance the overall strategy Decisive leader with the ability to make decisions independently, quickly, and with little supervision Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Ability to effectively communicate at all levels Availability to support extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel Individuals with disabilities who need assistance with the application process may contact us by email: [email protected] or phone: 703-234-9176.
