Job Description
Description The System Support Analyst reports to the System Support Team Lead and ensures all endâuser devices operate smoothly and efficiently. The role handles device setup, software installation and configuration, and troubleshooting technical issues, providing support both in person and remotely. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
The analyst works with diverse IT infrastructure such as laptops, mobile devices, printers, networks, and cloud services, and may also contribute technical insights to projects as needed. This is a 6âmonth fixedâterm position with potential extension. Join our True Blue Team in Edmonton, AB.
Essential Responsibilities Installing, configuring, and maintaining endâpoint devices, including printers, workstations, networks, cloudâbased services, audio/video equipment, and peripherals. Installing, configuring, and maintaining various software applications, including troubleshooting complex technical issues related to productivity software, communication tools, and business applications. Proficient with and strong knowledge of all operating systems such as Windows, Android, and iOS and able to troubleshoot related issues and resolve them quickly and efficiently.
Providing endâuser support for hardware, software, and network issues, including troubleshooting components, replacing faulty equipment, identifying root causes through thorough review and assessment, and recommending appropriate solutions. Collaborating with internal and external technical resources as required (external vendors or internal IT SMEâs). Responding to and resolving IT incidents and service requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that endâusers are informed of the status of their requests.
Strong understanding of IT security principles and practices, including antivirus software, firewalls, and security policies and procedures to maintain a secure environment. Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, and the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues and ensure the organizationâs IT systems run smoothly. Responsible for setting up and maintaining IT infrastructure, including printers, networks, and cloudâbased services, ensuring these systems are optimized for performance and security.
Assisting with continuously reviewing and improving complex IT processes and proceduresâi.e., network design, systems configurationâto identify and recommend updates that are efficient, effective, and aligned with industry best practices and standards (ITIL based). Providing technical advice and guidance to stakeholders such as executives and the Service Desk team on potential issues. Qualifications 2âyear Technical Diploma in Computer Science required; Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is an asset.
Proficiency with cloud applications and tools, including Microsoft Azure, Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft Endpoint, Exchange Online, Cloud Printing, Fax Systems, and ServiceNow. Strong knowledge of onâpremises services such as Microsoft Active Directory and File Servers. Experience with collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Expertise in cloudâbased software, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Visio, and Project. Familiarity with networking technologies and tools such as Cisco, Fortinet, Meraki, and various internet connection types (cellular, wired, pointâtoâpoint, satellite). Strong understanding of operating systems, including Windows 10/11, Android, and iOS.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problemâsolving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to nonâtechnical users. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fastâpaced environment.
