What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Eligible for NER and CPEng registration with Engineers Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles across the complete engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition through to verification, validation, qualification, and acceptance.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama, or Polarion.
  • Experience supporting system integration, Verification & Validation (V&V), qualification testing, and acceptance activities within complex engineering projects.
  • Experience delivering Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Heavy Vehicle, or other complex engineering systems.
  • Strong understanding of technical risk management, trade studies, interface management, engineering change management, and configuration-controlled environments.
  • Australian Citizenship is mandatory. Baseline Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and manage system requirements ensuring alignment with contractual, regulatory, and engineering requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Define system architecture, interfaces, and functional allocations to support complex system integration.
  • Develop and maintain systems engineering artefacts including requirements traceability, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and verification compliance matrices.
  • Support system integration, Verification & Validation (V&V), qualification, and acceptance activities.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments, trade studies, engineering reviews, and design assurance activities.
  • Manage engineering changes, technical risks, assumptions, and issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with Defence standards, safety requirements, and established systems engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
