Company and Role of Supplier Quality Engineer

Vickerstock are recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer on behalf of a successful engineering and manufacturing business in the Banbridge area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with suppliers and improving quality rather than simply managing documentation.

You will take responsibility for supplier quality performance, working closely with suppliers and internal Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Manufacturing teams to ensure components and materials consistently meet the required standards.

The role will involve a good mix of supplier development, problem-solving, quality improvement and practical engineering.

Key Responsibilities for this Supplier Quality Engineer position

• Work with suppliers to improve quality, performance and consistency
• Investigate supplier-related quality issues and drive effective corrective actions
• Support the introduction and approval of new suppliers and components
• Monitor supplier quality performance and identify areas requiring improvement
• Carry out supplier audits and quality reviews
• Work closely with Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing to resolve quality issues
• Support root cause investigations and preventative actions
• Develop strong working relationships with key suppliers
• Support continuous improvement across the supply chain
• Ensure appropriate supplier quality standards and documentation are maintained

Essential Criteria for this Supplier Quality Engineer position

• Previous experience within Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality or a similar engineering role
• Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of root cause analysis and corrective action
• Experience dealing directly with suppliers or external manufacturing partners
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
• Strong practical problem-solving skills
• Good communication and relationship-building ability

A qualification within Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or a related discipline would be advantageous, although strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.

We are particularly interested in speaking with Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Engineers, as well as Manufacturing or Process Engineers who have strong quality and supplier experience.

Experience within fabricated products, mechanical components, assemblies, machinery, equipment or other engineered products would be particularly relevant.
