Position Overview : As a Summer Learning Academy Teacher • Responsible for planning, implementing, and leading the educational activities of the SLA program under the supervision of the SLA program Liaison. • Guide the academic and social development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy learning environment that promotes progress and learning. • Prepare lesson plans for Math and Literacy activities. • Work with the site director/liaison to administer the Pre/Post Test for literacy and math assessments. • Attend all required training and staff meetings. • Instruct and facilitate lesson plans and activities and lead the classroom according to the program outline and quality requirements. • Ensure the safety, supervision, and proper implementation of literacy and math portion of the day. • Proactively manage classroom behavior. • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students (e.g. inclusion accommodation, language strategies). • Monitor and report to the Liaison and Site Director weekly attendance, student progress, and behavior issues.
