Climate17 is pleased to be working with a specialist solar mounting systems provider supporting the growth of renewable energy infrastructure across the UK and international markets. This organisation is recognised for its innovative approach to solar PV infrastructure and is continuing to expand its engineering capability within the ground-mounted solar sector. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of utility-scale solar mounting solutions.

The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to play a key role in the development of ground-mounted solar products, working across structural design, technical analysis, and product optimisation. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically robust and commercially viable solar infrastructure solutions, while helping to improve internal engineering processes and automation capabilities. The role offers a flexible hybrid working model, strong long-term progression opportunities, and the chance to contribute directly to the growth of renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Design and analyse structural systems for ground-mounted solar arrays Ensure compliance with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations Develop templates and automation processes within the engineering function Conduct site assessments and review factors impacting structural design and installation Collaborate with project managers, architects, and construction teams to develop installation solutions Produce detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications Perform structural analysis using industry-standard software tools Provide technical support during construction and installation phases Conduct quality assurance reviews and technical inspections Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practice within solar and structural engineering Requirements Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate structural engineering experience Experience within renewable energy or infrastructure projects highly desirable Proficiency with structural analysis software such as Dlubal, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla, or similar Strong understanding of structural design codes and construction standards Experience using AutoCAD or similar drafting software Knowledge of soil interaction and ground investigation reporting beneficial Strong problem-solving and technical analysis skills Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment What’s on Offer Hybrid working flexibility Strong progression and professional development opportunities Pension scheme 25 days holiday + bank holidays Wellness days and volunteering scheme Opportunity to contribute directly to renewable energy growth and infrastructure delivery Interested?
