Job Description
Stress Engineer (F&DT) 6 month contract Based in Filton Offering £46ph Inside IR35 We are looking for a professional with experience in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance and a background in the aerospace sector. Responsibilities Perform F&D analysis and compile justification reports for repair designs, working closely with Design and Static Stress engineers to develop optimum repairs. Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including offshore teams, and suppliers as required.
Lead packages of work and integrate with Design and Static Stress teams for major incidents or complex activities. Develop methods and processes for repair analysis, collaborating with method experts and tool owners to enhance the repair teams’ analysis capabilities. Support the repair team on other structural perimeters such as fuselage, empennage, and high‑lift devices.
Qualifications Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience. Aerospace F&D engineering background. Experience in F&D analysis of aircraft structures using a range of processes, methods, and toolsets (e.g., ISAMI, GISEH) and generating technical dossiers/reports.
Technical understanding of metallic and composite structures with an emphasis on F&D analysis. Understanding of fundamental fatigue and damage tolerance analysis methods. Understanding of airworthiness regulations.
