Job Description

Job Title: Store Manager Responsibilities Responsible for the overall management and direction of the store and team in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ensures financial results of the store, including sales, on‑site donations (OSDs), expenses and profits, meet or exceed target. Have constant focus on growing the business through full utilization of every OK, followed by increasing OK volume as appropriate.

Achieves results through management team and by working side‑by‑side, hands‑on, with the broader store team. SM role‑models expected behavior and continually observes, assesses, trains, coaches, and counsels performance. Guide and support Store performance to meet sales, profit, OSDs, production, and productivity targets.

Lead, direct, and supervise management team and through them the entire team. Oversee production manager and retail sales manager in proactively planning staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and training team members. Regularly observe, assess, interact, coach and counsel the team.

Identify and develop high potential team members for all management positions through on‑the‑job guidance. Maintain a respectful, values‑driven workplace. Use open communication tools and convert team member input into meaningful action.

Provide recognition and candid feedback. Provide oversight for merchandise standards and initiatives, and sales & marketing promotions. Ensure execution of merchandise standards and initiatives, as well as sales & marketing promotions.

Plan and implement seasonal backstock, merchandising and other strategic programs. Ensure the Savers’ recycling program is fully leveraged to reduce landfill and allow for further reuse of unsold / unsaleable items. Execute all company standards in Community Donation Center, Donation Drive Fundraiser, and Get to Give programs.

Oversee efforts to create community awareness of the CDC and the company brand. Develop partnerships with local organizations seeking cash fundraising opportunities and partner on DDF events. Develop partnerships and community awareness with local non‑profit organizations (e.g., schools, shelters) that may benefit from free receipt of merchandise.

Deliver a positive and unforgettable customer/donor experience, setting the example for service expectations. Receive and respond to customer/donor questions, requests, and complaints. Ensure a quick, accurate and positive cash register experience for customers.

Ensure a quick and informative experience for donors. Actively engage with customers/donors to seek firsthand feedback to make improvements. Guide RSM in implementing setup of sales and marketing promotions & programs.

Assist donors per company standards. Protect company assets and information by ensuring safe handling, security and integrity. Proactively promote loss prevention awareness by upholding procedures and ensuring policies are in place.

Ability to reason, make decisions, and use independent judgment in various situations. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. High School diploma; post‑secondary degree/diploma preferred. 3+ years results‑driven retail store management or industrial management experience.

Physical Requirements • Must be able to frequently lift and carry products weighing less than 5 lbs. Will occasionally need to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional pushing and pulling of racks/carts weighing 50 to 250 pounds using 4 – 10 lbs. of force. • Frequent reaching out in various levels/directions to inspect/handle merchandise, validate work processes, train/coach/counsel the team. • Possess dexterity for complex hand‑eye tasks, including keyboarding, writing on documents/forms, merchandise & pricing inspection. • Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending, and twisting and occasional kneeling needed. • Frequently required to read written & electronic documents and product labels. • Continuous need to hear and verbally communicate in order to interact with and respond to management, team members and customers. • Will occasionally be exposed to hazardous machinery, solvents, radiation, dust and temperature fluctuations. • Will need to adjust work schedule to the needs of the business, including working some nights, weekends, holidays. • Able and willing to safely navigate work environment that may include large industrial machinery, heavy equipment and product, elevated and uneven surfaces, and heights, and moving forklifts.
