General Manager - Store + Events We are a unique hybrid space that blends a thoughtfully curated second-hand clothing store with a vibrant bar and community hub. Alongside our daily bar, retail and hospitality offering – we host regular markets, live music, and creative events that bring together food & beverage, fashion, sustainability, and culture. The Store + Events Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the store is appropriately staffed, and upholding company policies and standards.

In this role, you will lead a team of retail associates and bartenders, engage directly with customers, and play a key part in driving the store and market’s overall success and profitability. BAR Maintain given bar margins and monitor bar sales weekly. Watch for customer intoxication levels and be comfortable with removing unruly customers.

Oversee all bar f&b training and procedures to ensure all GSV guidelines and procedures are followed. Oversee and implement the GSV food program. Cleanliness is top priority behind the bar and should be maintained at all times.

The Bar Lead should be on top of staff for consistently cleaning, washing, dusting, and sanitizing in accordance with safety and health protocols. Train & schedule all staff to do prepwork for all liquor and food. Ensure Bartenders are trained in mixology, prepwork, and taste testing with all drinks and food.

Orders all bar and store supplies: food, liquor, beer, wine, mixes, bags, cleaning supplies, etc. for the entire store. Responsible for maintaining the bar’s beginning and ending inventory that should be submitted to the Area Manager monthly. Monitor and budget all ordering alongside inventory totals.

All ordering must be monitored and budgeted alongside this inventory. Be familiar with the menus and bar promotions and educate staff appropriately. Keep bar fridges fully stocked and no fridge should look or appear empty.

Responsible for maintaining bar merchandising to the standards set by the Store Merchandising team. Train staff to ask on every transaction if they want a drink or a shot, using slogans and incentives to upsell. Staff is also expected to be trained by the Bar Lead on asking “Single or Double” on every drink purchase.

RETAIL Responsible for communicating with management to keep up to date with new store sales, promotions, new product introductions, and is expected to educate their staff accordingly. Be familiar with these four tools: in-store sales incentives, slogans, business model, and ethos. Drive sales by building enthusiasm for products and the concept of the store and should spread that enthusiasm to staff.

Begin each shift with a daily staff huddle to go over store goals and expectations for the day. Train staff to greet each customer upon entering the store. Oversee and enforce restocking protocols within staff.

All merchandise should be fully stocked and front faced at all times. Vinyl racks should be properly merchandised to display all vinyl organized and neat at all times. Staff and schedule each store to have at least 3 staff members per day as an opener, a mid shift, and a closer.

Maintain a labor to sales percentage of 18%, and use sales metrics to maintain this percentage, while also staying in line with staffing policy outlined previously. Ensure stockroom stays neat and organized to avoid any safety and health hazards and to provide clear access to back stock merchandise for restocking purposes. Be familiar with our return policy, and effectively resolve any customer complaints in a professional manner.

Collaborate weekly with the Merchandise Manager to ensure the store lives up to standards. Be informed about vendor/wholesale and buy sell trade procedures, and direct all new inquiries to our website for appointment/application submission. Educate staff on these procedures.

Train staff regarding all merchandise, vinyl, and vintage product knowledge to provide proper customer service and answer any questions the customer may have. Manage all Vintage vendors within their store. EVENTS Plan, schedule, and oversee all in-store events, including markets, pop-ups, and special activations Source, curate, and manage relationships with vendors, artists, and collaborators Coordinate event logistics (layout, staffing, permits if needed, equipment, etc.) Work closely with the bar and retail teams to ensure smooth event execution Manage event budgets and track expenses Coordinate with Marketing Manager on events through social media, partnerships, and local outreach Oversee event setup, live operations, and breakdown STAFF Responsible for hiring, training, and performance of all staff.

Ensure all staff are following F&B safety guidelines and procedures and have attained their Servsafe certification. Follow appropriate onboarding procedures for new staff, and complete the training checklist BEFORE allowing new staff to be scheduled for regular shifts. Develop and maintain a schedule for all employees within the store in accordance with our staffing policy, and the schedule should be centered around peak weekdays and times, store promotions, holidays, and other store needs as they arise.

Coach and document staff members if not aligning with GSV ethics and expectations. Submit time cards for record keeping Set the example by providing outstanding customer service and follow the customer service guidelines at all times. Train staff on customer service guidelines.

Know how to handle health department inspections, and consistently follow our food & safety guidelines. Maintain a positive and professional attitude in store along with the entire staff. approach customers with an open heart and warm welcome. Train staff to do the same.

Educate staff on all unique bar offerings and different food menu items. Train all staff on Square POS systems, and consistently monitor transactions to ensure proper checkout procedure is followed. Teach staff members on upselling on every single transaction.

REQUIREMENTS: Experience managing markets or vendor-based events. Knowledge of local creative/community networks. Excellent interpersonal communication.

A customer service-oriented attitude. Confidence to lead and direct a team of associates. Ability to manage time and stay organized.

Strengths in leadership, management, team building, and problem-solving. Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and oftentimes high-pressure environment. Numerical and analytical knowledge to properly achieve and track store goals.

Enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Good recordkeeping for paperwork and state issued signage for displays in windows and break rooms. Knowledge of Google Suite for communications and goal tracking needs.

Ability to track and report budgets and expenses. Organization in ordering, reporting, and upkeep of all bar inventory. Familiarity with bartending practices and ability to train bartenders.

Must be available to work at least 40 hours per week in store, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Other Requirements: Must live in or be able to reliably commute to our Nashville Location.
