STARLIMS Technical Lead / Developer

Our client is seeking 2 experienced STARLIMS Technical Lead / Developer to join a high-performing team supporting critical laboratory informatics systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a STARLIMS specialist to lead development activities, collaborate closely with business stakeholders, and drive enhancements across laboratory-focused applications.

This role is ideally suited to someone with deep STARLIMS expertise, strong .NET development experience, and a background working within laboratory, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments.

Position Overview

Employment Type: Contract

Hours: Full-time

Length: 6 months with a view to extend

Working Model: Remote - Face to face interviews to take place in either Channai or Trivandrum.

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Lead STARLIMS development, configuration, enhancement, and support activities.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy STARLIMS solutions in line with business requirements.
• Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and system failures.
• Drive best practices across application design, development standards, and deployment processes.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Recommend and implement performance improvements and system optimisations.
• Collaborate within Agile delivery teams using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in .NET and Oracle/SQL database application development within multi-tier architectures.
• Extensive hands-on experience with the STARLIMS platform in laboratory environments.
• Proven experience across STARLIMS development, workflow configuration, testing, deployment, and requirements analysis.
• Strong experience with:
• .NET Framework, .NET Core
• WCF and RESTful Web Services
• Microsoft Visual Studio
• SQL Server and/or Oracle PL/SQL
• Experience with source control tools such as Git, TFS, Bitbucket, or similar.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business and technical teams.

Desirable Experience

• Experience using GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools.
• Exposure to Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and laboratory informatics platforms.
• Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, or laboratory environments.
