Stamping Engineer

Job Summary

The Deputy Manager – Stamping is responsible for assisting in planning, coordinating, and supervising stamping shop activities to meet production, quality, cost, and delivery targets. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, driving process improvements, ensuring tool & machine availability, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality systems.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist in daily production planning and execution.
• Monitor shift-wise production and downtime.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and take quick action on in-process defects.
• Coordinate tool/die maintenance and machine health checks.
• Lead root cause analysis for abnormalities and customer complaints.
• Drive 5S, kaizen, and other lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Monitor OEE, rejection %, rework %, and take actions to improve.
• Train and guide operators and line leaders.
• Support ECN implementation, new part trials, and documentation.
• Report daily/weekly production and quality metrics to management.

Qualifications

• Education: B.E. / B. Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering
• Experience: 8 – 12 years in a stamping/press shop environment, with experience in a supervisory role
• Skills:
• Good knowledge of stamping process, press machine operation, and tool setting
• Understanding of quality tools (5 Why, Pareto, 8D, Poka-Yoke, etc.)
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills
• Proficient in MS Office, SAP/ERP (preferred)
• Knowledge of safety standards and machine guarding practices
• Role will be based in Mexico. Incumbent must be willing to relocate.
