Job Description: Seeking a Sr. Staff Data Engineer to design, build, and evolve enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making. This individual will provide senior-level technical leadership across data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption layers while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, governed, and aligned with enterprise cloud standards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Design and develop scalable enterprise data pipelines and data platform solutions Build and optimize analytical data models for reporting and business intelligence use cases Collaborate with architecture, analytics, governance, and application teams to deliver data solutions Implement cloud-native and distributed data processing solutions Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance optimization across platforms Support enterprise data integration initiatives and modernization efforts Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows and orchestration processes Participate in technical architecture discussions and strategic data initiatives Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices and scalable design Troubleshoot complex data engineering and platform challenges Requirements: Must-Haves: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field 10 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform development Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala Extensive experience designing and building enterprise data pipelines and analytical data models Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms and distributed data processing Strong understanding of data architecture patterns, data integration, and performance optimization Experience with AWS serverless technologies including Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams Nice-to-Haves: Master's degree in a related field Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bamboo Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud modernization initiatives
