We have a Senior SAP FICO Consultant position (Contract - WFH) for one of our clients who is a niche US product company. This position requires expertise in SAP CIN (Country India Version) and GST configuration.
Job Description:
The Senior SAP FICO Functional Analyst plays a crucial role in advancing EA's mission by driving business innovation and addressing challenges through exceptional SAP functional solutions in Finance and Controlling (FICO). This role encompasses the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of SAP applications, and involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with the organization's priorities and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Organize and lead workshops to gather and validate business requirements.
Performs configuration, functional documentation, testing plans, executes testing, tracks results, system documentation, and producing training materials.
Suggests to the business relevant new SAP functionality to the best extent possible, involving review of business processes and system integration challenges.
Conduct Fit/Gap assessments to determine areas of configuration that can be leveraged.
Participates in proof of concept analyses and prototypes to ensure proposed designs can meet business requirements.
Establishes credibility at all levels with clients and builds problem-solving partnerships with clients and colleagues (Relationship Management).
Responsible to ensure systems design and development by the BSA satisfies all the needs of the end-users by developing / reviewing test plans and test scripts.
Act as evangelist for SAP benefits across the organization; promote SAP knowledge and usage throughout the organization.
Prepares detailed functional specifications for development activities including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.
Prepares project related documentation (object designs, business rules, technical information etc) during all project stages.
Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide functional support as necessary.
Responsible for leading, managing and delivering all assigned project and support activities on behalf of the SAP Team.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on SAP FICO functional experience, including at least 2 full lifecycle implementations and ongoing support/enhancement work.
• Strong hands-on configuration experience across core FICO modules: GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Controlling (CO-PA, Cost Center/Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders), and Bank Accounting.
• Hands-on experience with SAP CIN (Country India Version), including tax procedures, excise duty, withholding tax (TDS/TCS) configuration, and localization for Indian statutory requirements.
• Practical experience with GST (Goods and Services Tax) configuration and compliance in SAP, including GST determination, e-invoicing, e-way bill integration, GSTR reporting, and reconciliation processes.
• Working knowledge of India-specific statutory and regulatory requirements (Income Tax Act provisions relevant to TDS, Companies Act reporting nuances, and other local compliance needs) as they apply to SAP FICO configuration.
• Experience supporting or integrating with third-party financial systems (e.g., xSuite, Avalara, BillTrust, Concur, SideTrade, FxTop, Wells Fargo banking interfaces).
• Solid understanding of Fit/Gap analysis, functional specification writing, and translating business/user stories into SAP configuration and development requirements.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks, including sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and time tracking in ADO (Azure DevOps).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading workshops, KT sessions, and end-user training. • SAP FICO certification preferred.
