Sr Network Administrator / Team Lead

Position Summary: Babcock Power is seeking a Lead Network Administrator to drive the design, implementation, and ongoing support of our secure, scalable IT infrastructure. This senior role, reporting to the Director of IT Operations, is responsible for shaping our hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, mentoring IT staff, and serving as the technical escalation point for complex issues. Essential Responsibilities: Infrastructure Leadership: Design, plan, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions (cloud, on-premises, hybrid). Documentation of network topologies, system configurations, and IT processes. Oversee administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).

Manage virtualized infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) for performance and uptime Lead response to incidents affecting global operations, providing remediation and root cause Mentor IT Infrastructure staff and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement Complete infrastructure related activities that deliver new capabilities to the business Network Operations & Security: Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, VLANs, VNets, secure remote access, secure internet gateway, SDWAN, wireless infrastructure, and firewalls. Monitor network traffic, logs, and performance metrics to proactively resolve issues. Implement QoS, network segmentation, and access control policies.

Manage cloud platforms (Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), including IAM policies and security best practices. Partner with security teams on hardening, risk assessment, and vulnerability mitigation. Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: 10 years of experience in a systems/network administration role supporting hybrid environments.

Bachelor of Science in Information Systems or a related technical field Advanced proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V/Nutanix). Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) Self-motivated with track record of continuous skill development Deep understanding of network protocols, security architecture, and systems automation Clear, effective communicator with a focus on customer service and team collaboration Experience leading and mentoring IT staff Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience supporting an enterprise network and infrastructure Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) Hands-on SDWAN deployment and optimization experience. Certifications: Azure, Cisco, ITIL CISSP Certification a Plus This is a full-time, in office or hybrid position based in Marlborough, MA.

The target salary for this role is $110,000 - 140,000.
