Sr . Role Overview This position owns the development, scale-up, optimization, and technical transfer of dry powder cell culture media manufacturing processes. You'll drive product and process development efforts that support a diverse customer portfolio, reporting directly to the Associate Director of MSAT.
Key Responsibilities Lead formulation and process optimization for dry powder cell culture media, including blending, milling, and packaging operations Plan and execute scale-up studies from bench/pilot through commercial production Write, review, and execute SOPs, batch records, and technical study reports Evaluate milling and blending processes for mixing uniformity and particle size distribution; implement improvements targeting yield, homogeneity, and throughput Operate and support processing equipment including mills, blenders, and screening systems Maintain safe material handling practices with appropriate dust control and containment Support process validation, equipment qualification, and cleaning validation activities Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing Provide technical guidance to Project Management during client onboarding and project execution Design and analyze experiments for process improvement and troubleshooting Support rapid feasibility assessments for new project onboarding Develop and deliver training for manufacturing staff on new processes Contribute to automation initiatives and continuous improvement efforts Qualifications Education: BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline BS + 5 years of relevant experience, or MS + 4 years Required Experience: Solid foundational knowledge in chemistry Familiarity with GMP documentation and regulatory standards Hands-on experience with scale-up and tech transfer in a GMP setting Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities independently Comfortable in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment with tight deadlines Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills Analytical mindset with demonstrated technical leadership Preferred: Prior experience with cell culture media preparation or buffer formulation Working knowledge of powder processing (blending, particle size control, material handling) Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
