AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key Job Responsibilities Design and implement energy‑efficient mechanical systems for next‑generation data centers Lead cross‑functional teams in developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges Oversee project lifecycle from conception through implementation, including budget management Foster collaborative relationships with hardware teams to optimize facility‑equipment integration Guide continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance monitoring A Day in the Life You’ll start your day connecting with global team members to review ongoing projects.

You might analyze energy efficiency data, collaborate on innovative cooling solutions, or mentor fellow engineers. You’ll participate in design reviews, engage with vendors, and contribute to sustainability initiatives that shape our environmental footprint. Basic Qualifications 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities—including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineering or Architectural License Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.) Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics Knowledge of continuously operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems, and building management systems Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
