Overview AWS Compute & ML Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to cloud services. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with AWS teams to deliver high safety and security standards while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. AWS Hardware Engineering (HWEng) designs compute, accelerator, edge, and storage server systems that are industry-leading in performance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities Lead integration and operations of next generation storage (SSD) for cloud systems and design infrastructure to operate storage platforms at massive scale. Lead the integration and delivery of SSDs from OEM suppliers and develop automated monitoring and failure analysis services to operate, debug, and scale devices. Work closely with software teams to tailor and operate storage solutions for the AWS environment and drive operational excellence, including software services for SSD performance and health at scale.

Basic Qualifications 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent Experience with root-cause analysis, debugging, and resolution of issues on storage systems in a Linux environment Experience with system integration and operation of SSDs Preferred Qualifications Proficient coding, scripting, and debugging abilities in Linux Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production Expertise in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity Experience in developing technical documentation such as functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package includes sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
