Sr FPGA Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join a telecommunications client in Kanata, ON. This individual will support the design and development of advanced FPGA solutions for packet-optical platform products, owning full lifecycle responsibilities from design through validation while collaborating cross-functionally with hardware, software, and verification teams. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 8+ years of experience as an FPGA/ASIC design engineer with a Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent Strong experience managing large, complex FPGA designs (area/timing constraints) Advanced RTL design experience (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog) Experience with FPGA tools (Vivado, Quartus) and back-end design constraints Expertise in clock domain crossing and IP integration Experience with interface and transport protocols (Ethernet, OTN, PCIe, SPI, I2C, MDIO) Familiarity with UVM verification environments and scripting (Python, Tcl) Strong collaboration skills; experience working with cross-functional engineering teams Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to project planning NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Experience with board-level or embedded software design Exposure to FPGA design automation, scripts, and tool improvements Experience mentoring junior engineers Knowledge of FPGA industry tools, trends, and emerging technologies
