Title: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (onsite work) Location: Seattle, WA Duration: Permanent / FTE Salary Range: $140K - $170K NOTE - Candidate need to be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Our client is looking to add a Sr.
Electrical Design Engineering focusing on new product development and with robotics experience. Daily Responsibilities: Electrical System Troubleshooting Perform PCBA board-level troubleshooting and issue resolution for both design and fabrication/assembly issues Work from detailed electrical issues outward to system-level integration problems, understanding how electronics interact with software, controls, and mechanical systems Diagnose and resolve motor drive control issues Ask the right questions to identify root causes and develop testable hypotheses for complex system failures Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, controls, mechanical) to determine whether issues are electrical, software-based, or integration-related Design Support & Modifications Execute PCB modifications and layout tweaks using Altium design tools Manage component pickups and design adjustments for existing circuit boards Perform board bring-up and integration testing in collaboration with mechanical and firmware/software teams Document troubleshooting processes, findings, and solutions clearly to support continuous improvement Technical Leadership Apply versatile engineering knowledge across analog, digital, and power electronics domains Understand system architecture sufficiently to identify where issues originate within the larger system Manage bills of materials and address parts obsolescence or supply chain constraints Write test procedures and assist in formal verification of design function Required Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university 8+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience Proficiency with Altium design tools for schematic review, PCB modifications, and layout adjustments Strong motor drive and DC motor control experience, including understanding of motor stability, commutation, phase alignment, and drive electronics troubleshooting Demonstrated expertise in PCBA board-level troubleshooting and debug with systematic root cause analysis skills Excellent problem-solving abilities with focus on asking the right questions to isolate issues Experience working with complex electromechanical systems where electrical, software, and controls interact Strong hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in team settings Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation Highly motivated with ability to prioritize and drive toward issue resolution Technical Skills Proficiency in analog and digital circuit analysis and troubleshooting Experience with power management systems and power electronics Understanding of microprocessor, FPGA, or DSP-based systems Experience with sensor interfaces and signal conditioning Knowledge of EMI/EMC principles and debugging techniques Additional Skills Industrial robotics or automation system experience Power electronics design experience Technical project leadership of electrical engineering teams Experience with motor control algorithms and feedback systems Experience with EtherCAT devices High-speed digital design experience (PCI Express, Gigabit Ethernet, USB) Python programming for test automation or data analysis Experience bringing products from concept to production The following benefits are offered for this position: Excellent Healthcare plan (Medical, Dental, and Vision) fully paid for by the company for the employee; partial payment for dependents 401(k) plan with company match Long-term and short-term disability, AD&D and Life Insurance Paid maternity/new parent leave 11 Paid holidays 3 weeks of paid time off (PTO) per year, increasing after 2, 5, and 9 years of service
