Sr Developer - Transition

What Youll Be Doing (position summary): The Senior Developer, Transition GCC is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and executing transition activities within the GCC. This role manages the end-to-end transition process in GCC. The Senior developer also identifies transformation opportunities at GCC and help develop capabilities to improve on the process via tooling/automation.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities): Transition Management: Support comprehensive transition of resources based on transition scope and timelines.

Execute detailed transition plans by effectively coordinating cross-functional activities, closely monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery of all key milestones Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and dependencies associated with transition activities to minimize disruptions and ensure a seamless handover Serve as an escalation point for on local technology teams when it comes to transition related activities like onboarding, training, system resources etc. Application Development & Maintenance: Application Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient applications using JAVA tech stack, API framework Build and maintain back-end APIs to support application functionality. Work on the data modelling and defining the model for the solution and enhance it.

Experience with Full stack development, manage code base and end to end responsibility of the modules developed. Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards. Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high standards across the team.

Testing Implement and maintain unit tests for back-end code to ensure reliability and maintainability. Troubleshooting & Support Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Continuous Improvement Stay up to date with emerging technologies and frameworks to continuously improve development processes.

As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls. Experience: 7+ years of experience. Who You Are (skills/qualifications): Must Have Skills: 7+ yrs experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a strong focus on any one of the programming languages JAVA, Python Hands-on experience with one or more frameworks like FastAPI, Springboot, Node JS, Django for building back-end APIs.

Solid understanding of front-end and back-end development principles. Good understanding of Database Management system and application. (RDBMS) Proficiency in writing unit tests for back-end code. Hands-on experience with front-end testing frameworks, particularly Cypress.

Strong Git skills, including branching, merging, and version control best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have: Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including deployment and integration. Exposure to modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
