SUMMARY Conduct liaison activities between the customer, application sales manager, regional sales manager and Headquarters to resolve and clarify technical matters pertaining to equipment issues, selection and enhancements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Demonstrate technical proficiency in four (4) to five (5) major, distinct application market segments. • Support sales efforts by coordinating effective demonstrations of complex product/processes. • Develop expertise on all Yaskawa Motoman products in area of focus. • Make recommendations for approval to keep demonstrations in demo lab current with product and technology. • Responsible for all aspects of related lab facilities, including demo schedule achievement, inventory, capital and cleanliness. • Lead evaluation of vendor products to insure specifications are met and coordinate all vendor logistics. • Prepare materials and technical presentations on area of expertise for clients, internal personnel and Integrators/OEM's. • Lead internal continuous improvement by creating training classes on new functions. • Submit technical papers and reports for submission to journals and for presentation at industry trade shows. • Act as single point of contact for in-house and on-site programming/process support on specialized applications and difficult problems. • Perform and document customer demonstrations. • Act as internal consultant on matters related to application of process technology to products and systems. • Research, test and evaluate new leading edge technology in the robotic industry.

Create demos to demonstrate Yaskawa Motoman's unique advantages. • Support trade show efforts by defining show content, directing programming of cells, and coordinating technical show support resources. • Travel 15-25%. Must have a valid driver's license and full coverage automobile insurance. • Support Product Development by providing technical detail for specifications, and product testing. • Establish procedures to guide technical personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, material selection and special process requirements • Adhere to all corporate and department ISO policies and procedures to maintain quality standards. • Must be able to direct team efforts to resolve difficult technical issues under heavy client scrutiny. Must be team and results oriented.

Ability to work under pressure is essential. Will be required to coordinate departmental work assignments. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Programming skills and process expertise with regard to robotic/automated equipment is essential. Good communication skills necessary. Work requires ingenuity to plan and implement projects under general supervision, to examine advanced subjects, to use independent judgment to make decisions under established policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and with explosives and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Duties may require the occasional use of/contact with/exposure to various hazardous materials (such as, but not limited to grease, oils, lubricants, paint, thinner, parts cleaner, etc.). Employees should have basic awareness of hazardous materials cautions. Those directly using the materials must have specific knowledge of material in use.
