Role Title: Sr Catastrophe Analyst IND Position Summary: This position will assist with the development of catastrophe model measures of aggregation and provide support to the Manager and other catastrophe analysts in the department to collect the most appropriate data to be used for a given model evaluation and prepare the data input file. In addition, it is expected that this individual will work in close collaboration with other team members to identify and resolve issues relating to data quality and interpretation of the model output results. The Analyst will be able to retrieve model results from file and prepare reports using data contained therein.
Job Responsibilities: Description: Prepare model files for review, produce results and extract data for reporting purposes. Collaborate with other analysts to identify the corporate data sources that should be used in the modeling process accurately reflects the true exposure. Identify any significant erroneous model outputs and in close collaboration with other analysts, provide recommendations for resolving.
Under the direction of one of the Natural Hazard Peril managers(s), extract data from premium model files to be used to support underwriting exceptions for individual accounts. Support the Manager, Aggregation Analysis, in the production of jurisdictional reporting as directed. Skill and Experience: 3 years of experiencerequired to perform essential job functions.
Additional Experience Qualifier (optional): 3 to 5 years of computer model experience along with underwriting experience Direct exposure to aggregation measurement concepts. Verisk Certified Catastophe Risk Modeler (VCCRM) (Formerly CEEM) or equivalent Strong Analytical skills Strong computer skills including comprehensive experience in Microsoft office products, primarily Excel, database management/utility preferred Good communication skills and presentation skills High level of accuracy and dependability Basic understanding of insurance structures and reinsurance placements Proficiency in SQL/R Must Have Skills: Proficiency with SQL/R Verisk Certified Catastophe Risk Modeler (VCCRM) (Formerly CEEM) Strong skills in excel and database management/utility is desirable Education and Certifications: 4 Year/ bachelors degree required.
