Sr. BAS Sales Engineer – Portland, OR – $100,000–$135,000 Base + Commission About the Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Sales Engineer to join a top mechanical contractor serving the Portland, OR market. This position is ideal for a motivated sales professional who excels in solution‑driven selling and understands the technical nuances of BAS systems used in high‑performance commercial environments.
In this role, you’ll help expand market share through consultative, value‑focused sales initiatives, utilizing proven methodologies including SPIN Selling and the Challenger Sales Process . Position Details: Title: Sr. BAS Sales Engineer Location: Portland, OR Territory: Portland, Eugene, Bend, and Southwest Washington Work Type: On‑Site (non-remote role) Industries Served: Commercial, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Institutional, Residential Key Responsibilities: Grow new business while managing and expanding key customer accounts in the Building Automation industry Leverage SPIN Selling and Challenger strategies to identify challenges and present high‑value solutions Develop customized proposals and solutions aligned with project requirements Communicate technical concepts related to BACnet, Ethernet networking, and DDC controls Collaborate with engineering, construction, and design‑build teams on project strategy Represent the full suite of mechanical and automation services to both new and established clients Maintain strong, trust‑based relationships through proactive engagement and support Ideal Candidate: 5+ years of experience in BAS sales, building automation, or related controls roles Solid understanding of Distech, Tridium/Niagara, and BACnet systems Background working with large‑scale or complex buildings (1M+ sq. ft. preferred) Comfortable with technical sales cycles and consultative B2B interactions Experience supporting design‑build or plan/spec project environments About the Company: Company: Alliant Systems Established: 2002 Employees: 100+ Services: HVAC, Plumbing, Engineering, BIM, Design‑Build, Controls, and Installation Compensation & Benefits: Base Salary: $100,000 – $135,000 (DOE) Commission: Uncapped earning potential Car Allowance: $800/month Health Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance: Life Insurance, Short/Long-Term Disability Spending Program: Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Retirement: 401(k) with 4% Company Match PTO: 2 Weeks of Vacation, Paid Sick Leave, Paid Holidays This role is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned BAS sales professional looking to drive growth, expand market presence, and work alongside a company invested in long‑term success and employee development. #J-18808-Ljbffr
