Sr Android Developer/ Lead Architect

We are hiring for Sr. Android Developer (Lead Architect Level) with our client based in Virginia. Job details Job Title: Senior Android Developer / Lead Architect Location: Vienna, Virginia (VA) - Local Candidates Only Role Type: Hybrid (On-site presence required weekly) Experience: 8+ Years in Android Development; 3+ Years in a Lead/Architectural Role Role Summary We are seeking a seasoned Android Lead/Architect to define the technical vision and drive the development of our high-performance mobile applications.

This role requires an expert-level technologist who can seamlessly transition between hands-on coding and high-level architectural design while leading and mentoring a team. Core Responsibilities • Architecture & Strategy: Define and own the scalable, modular architecture and technical roadmap for the Android platform (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture). • Technical Leadership: Lead technical design, conduct rigorous code reviews, and establish coding standards and best practices across the team. • Hands-on Development: Develop complex features using Kotlin and modern Jetpack libraries, including Jetpack Compose. • Performance & Quality: Drive initiatives for application performance, stability, and security; manage and improve CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies. • Mentorship: Guide and mentor mid-level and junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence. Essential Skills • Kotlin (Expert): Deep expertise in Kotlin and the Android SDK. • Modern Android: Proven experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, and dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger). • Design Patterns: Mastery of modern Android architectural patterns. • API/Data: Strong background in integrating RESTful APIs/GraphQL and working with local persistence (Room). • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and technically mentor team members.

Requirements • 8+ years in professional software development, with significant experience in a Lead or Architect role. • Must be a local resident of Virginia (VA) and willing to work on-site multiple days per week. • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
