What Youll Be Doing (position summary):
The Specialist, OTC Settlementsis responsible for the timely, accurate, and controlled execution of settlement, reconciliation, and investigation activities supporting Precious Metals operations within Capital Markets and Treasury. The role ensures end-to-end operational integrity across settlement processing, inventory movements, invoice validation, and metal delivery tracking, while minimizing risk through effective controls, issue resolution, and stakeholder coordination.
This role requires strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage complex investigations, escalations, and day-to-day issue resolution in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

How Youll Succeed (responsibilities):
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Execute and oversee daily settlement activities related to Precious Metals transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls and operating procedures
- Perform detailed reconciliations across inventory positions, cash movements, metal deliveries, invoices, and settlement records to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Independently investigate and resolve complex reconciliation breaks, unmatched items, settlement exceptions, and inventory discrepancies, including root cause analysis where applicable
- Review and validate invoices, delivery documentation, and settlement support records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and audit readiness
- Monitor metal movements and delivery tracking across depositories and counterparties to ensure accurate recording and timely issue identification
- Liaise with Front Office, Trade Control, Finance, Technology, depositories, and counterparties to clarify transaction details and resolve operational issues efficiently
- Manage escalated and high-impact issues with sound judgment, ensuring appropriate escalation, timely communication of risk, impact, and resolution plans
- Maintain complete and accurate records, supporting documentation, and audit trails for settlements, investigations, and exception handling activities
- Apply a strong risk and control mindset by ensuring exceptions are investigated, documented, and escalated in line with policy, governance, and control requirements
- Identify process gaps and recommend workflow, control, and efficiency improvements to strengthen settlement and reconciliation practices
- Partners closely with internal stakeholders including Front Office, Trade Control, Finance, Technology, Operations leadership, and other support teams to ensure accurate settlement processing, timely issue resolution, and effective escalation management
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with external counterparties, and depositories to support Precious Metals settlement activities, resolve discrepancies, and ensure smooth operational execution

- Supports end-to-end Precious Metals settlement and reconciliation activities across Capital Markets and Treasury, with responsibility for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and control in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Handles complex operational investigations related to settlement breaks, inventory discrepancies, invoice validation, metal delivery tracking, and exception management, requiring strong judgment, attention to detail, and effective coordination across multiple stakeholders
- Contributes to risk mitigation and operational excellence by maintaining strong documentation and audit trails, supporting escalations, identifying control gaps, and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk

- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Capital Markets operations, settlements, reconciliations, or a similar function
- Significant experience in settlements, reconciliations, or operations within a Capital Markets, Treasury, or Precious Metals environment
- Demonstrated experience in Precious Metals inventory management at depositories, invoice processing, and metal delivery tracking
- Proven ability to independently investigate and resolve complex operational breaks, discrepancies, and settlement issues
- Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, escalation practices, and exception management
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to strengthen processes and controls
- Strong technical knowledge of Precious Metals settlement workflows, inventory controls, reconciliation processes, invoice validation, and delivery tracking
- Sound understanding of Capital Markets and Treasury operational processes, including transaction lifecycle management and exception handling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review detailed transaction data, identify discrepancies, assess impacts, and determine appropriate resolutions
- High attention to detail and strong organizational discipline in managing high-volume activities with accuracy and control
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and operate independently when handling escalations, investigations, and sensitive client or counterparty issues
- Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across internal teams and external partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently with counterparties, depositories, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong control mindset with a focus on governance, documentation, audit readiness, and continuous improvement
