Positions Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic aide preferably someone who wants to become a head teacher, or is in college taking classes to become a teacher. We want you to want to teach, to want to learn, and to take initiative in the classroom. Under the direction of the head teacher, who will plan, and teach you how to execute, you will have the ability to learn a lot, and start teaching yourself.

What is your interest? Reading, PE, art? What aspect of the classroom would you like to really have control over, we will find the space for you!

Student Profile:
Our class consists of 8–12 students with a range of moderate needs; including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and oppositional behavioral challenges.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to build strong rapport with students and maintain a proactive, supportive approach to classroom management. This is not a role for a punitive, authoritative type.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the head teacher in academic instruction using engaging, differentiated, and project-based approaches
• Collaborate closely with other classroom aides, speech therapist, occupational therapist, and school psychologist
• Be in charge of one aspect of the classroom: art, reading, PE,etc..
• Stay ahead of student behaviors with preventive strategies and therapeutic techniques

Qualifications:
• Enrolled in a Junior College, or College program for: teaching credential, therapy license, or education/psychology degree
• Strong background in therapeutic and trauma-informed practices
• Experience working with students with mild special needs and behavioral challenges
• Demonstrated success with hands-on learning and flexible teaching methods
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Positive, creative, and energetic outlook
